Obituary for Arthur William Schneider, Jr.
HEBRON – Arthur William Schneider, Jr., age 87, went to be with his Lord on December 24, 2021. He was the only son of Arthur William and Elsie Martha (Bushelmann) Schneider, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Waverly Sue Schneider. He is survived by is beloved “young bride of 62, years” Donna Sue (Barton) Schneider and his son Bartley William Schneider and many in-laws and friends that he loved dearly. Art graduated from Erlanger Lloyd High School in 1954 where he played football and basketball. In 1953 he was on the all-NKAC all star team where he was top scorer with an average of 22.5 points per game. In 1954, he was one of top 5 players picked for the all-NKAC all star team and made honorable mention on the all state team. After graduating from Lloyd High School, he served in the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood for 2 years. He then worked for T.W.A and then for Budig Trucking Company for 20 years. During that time he started his own business, Art Schneider Pallet Co., Inc. where he became known as the “pallet guru of the Tri-state area.” After he retired, he donated his life to charity work, helping those less fortunate than himself. He drove to Oneida Baptist Institute for several years with clothing donations from the area. He delivered goods to Hebron Baptist Church Food Pantry. He worked hard for Rose Garden Home Mission in Covington, KY. He bought them a truck, drove it, and delivered loads of food donations, etc. to them. Art was also a Kentucky Colonel and was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. Art was an avid U.K. fan. He also loved traveling, skiing, fishing, houseboating, and telling jokes. He loved feeding and watching the birds. He raised many flowers, particularly roses. Donations can be made to Rose Garden Home Mission, P.O. Box 122070, Covington, KY 41012 or Hebron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 92, Hebron, Kentucky 41048 or the charity of your choice. It was his request that there be no funeral service.
