Obituary for Brenda Elaine Carpenter

Brenda Elaine Carpenter, age 83, passed away and entered the joy of her reward on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Brenda was born August 17, 1938 in Covington, KY, the first child of William and Elsie (Martin) Carpenter. She graduated from Boone County High School in 1956 and worked downtown in mortgage lending and with Cincinnati Bell. In 1959, she married Robert Stanley Carpenter, from Covington, KY in an outdoor wedding at her family home on Tanner’s Lane in Florence. Brenda and Bob built their home next door and together had three children, Melissa Dressman, Tanya Stuck and Tara Eckstein. Through the years Brenda worked in the home raising her kids and outside the home, most recently for almost 30 years at Meade & Associates Realty Appraisal in Fort Mitchell until she retired in 2019. Brenda attended Faith Church in Erlanger, KY, was an Elder and served on the board since its founding. Throughout her life, Brenda sought to listen to and apply the Lord’s Word in her life, and she did, serving as an inspiration and example to so many. She gave freely of herself and invested in others with her sweet, gentle touch and selfless joy at helping someone. In 1987, she started the Isaiah House ministry and outreach. It started with 12 bags of groceries going door-to-door in Covington and over time evolved into a major monthly outreach event that ministers the gospel and prayer as well as food and other critical resources to hundreds of families in need each month in Covington and Ludlow. In over 34 years, rain or shine, Isaiah House has never missed a month in serving families in these communities. Brenda never sought credit or the spotlight, but was always content to work quietly and try to reach out to help anyone in need. She personally touched and changed countless lives in her 83 years. In 2007, after 48 blessed years of marriage, Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob. Also preceding her in death were her father, William (1998), her mother Elsie (2012), her granddaughter Brooke Chance (2012) and her brother Charles Carpenter (2020). She is survived by her siblings, Chester Carpenter, Debbie Callahan and Cathy Alford and her children Melissa (Kevin) Dressman, Tanya Stuck and Tara (Andy) Eckstein, as well as grandchildren Tre’ (Rachel) Stuck, Drew (Hailey) Stuck and Aubrey Stuck, and great grandchildren Caraline Stuck, Paizley Ryan, Natalie Stuck and Isaiah Stuck. Brenda’s example of kindness, friendship, faith and loyalty will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her. She had a caring, gentle and pure heart and was an endless source of strength to those around her. She put the interests of others ahead of her own. Anyone who knew her can’t help but remember the unique sparkle she had in her eyes and her infectious, sweet smile. She was a light and a joy to so many, and her loss will be deeply felt. Due to Covid precautions, there will be a graveside-only funeral service open to all on Tuesday, September 7 at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Isaiah House Ministries (www.isaiah-house.com). Online condolences may be made at www.stithfuneralhomes.com
