Obituary for CURT JOSEPH BESSETTE
Curt Joseph Bessette, 57, passed away on February 21, 2017 at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born on September 12, 1959 in Aurora, Illinois to James Arthur Bessette and Shirley Mae (Clawson) Bessette. Curt grew up in Aurora, Illinois and graduated from West High School in Aurora in 1977. After high school he attended college at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Accounting. He later attended Bristol University receiving a Master of Arts in Executive Management. He began working for Lyon Metal Products as a Draftsman and Project Coordinator where he worked from 1979 until 1983 when he started college. After college he worked for Plasti-line, Inc. and American Sign as a customer service manager managing 192 accounts. His last job before retirement was as Area Facilities Manager for Toys “R” Us managing construction and maintenance projects for 97 retail facilities located in 9 states. He retired in 2000. Becoming bored with retired life, Curt went to work for H & R Block as a tax preparer for the next several years until he retired again in 2008. Curt married Jo Anne Bessette on May 22, 1999 in Fort Wright, Kentucky. They were happily married for 18 years. Curt was a member of Alpha Psi Omega, CenterStage Players (Florence, Kentucky), Boone County Public Library Board of Directors, and several local charities. He enjoyed playing Trivia, participating in community theatre, working on projects, and collecting bunny artwork. He mostly enjoyed creating his original works of art for which he received many art awards including OCTA awards for program art. Curt was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Franks, his Step-Father Chester Franks, and his brother Richard Bessette. Curt is survived by his spouse Jo Anne, his Step-Son Roberto Henriquez, his 3 Grandchildren Maria, Reina, and Marcus Henriquez; his Brother Todd (Kim) Bessette.
