Obituary for Charles E Dolehi

Charles E. Dolehi was born October 27, 1922 in Bromley, Kentucky. He attended Fairview Elementary, then Crescent Springs, and graduated in 1940 from Dixie Heights High School, where he played for the Dixie football team, and was very active in High School activities as well. During World War II he was drafted into the US ARMY AIR CORPS, and served in England, France, Belgium and Germany. After the war he returned home on Christmas Eve, 1945. He then worked for the William Powell Valve Company until 1984 when he retired. He married Allison Lorraine Osborn October 3, 1947. He was a member of the Florence Christian Church, then the Bromley Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Allison Lorraine who passed away on September 7, 1979. He was very active in an alum group from his old high school, “The Dixie Guys”. He spent much of his retirement life traveling back and forth to visit his daughter and son-in-law in Los Angeles, and later Las Vegas, Nevada. Beginning in 2012 he lived with his daughter in Las Vegas. With his son-in-law he was able to travel back to Washington, DC on an Honor Flight with other WWII veterans to view all of the War Memorials. He remained active up until a fall at home in February 2021. He was then admitted to the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in May of 2021 where he lived until May 15, 2022 when he was admitted to the Boulder City Nevada Hospital with pneumonia. He passed away on May 23, 2022 attended by his daughter and son-in-law. He is survived by his only child, Claudia Dolehi-Wolt, son-in-law Kenneth Wolt, Grandchildren Denise Marie of Phoenix, Baron Wolt of Reno, Kimberly Wolt of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Great Grandchildren Jordan Savage, Phoenix; Alenia Kinney, Phoenix; Ally Owens, Phoenix; Kade Wolt, Reno; Liberty Gas, San Tan Valley, Arizona; and Great Great Granddaughter, Violet Savage, Phoenix. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitation will be from 10 AM – 11 AM with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US 42, Florence, KY 41042. Entombment will Military Honors will follow at Highland Cemetery Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell, KY. Online condolences may be made at www.stithfuneralhomes.com
