Obituary for DAPHNE RENEE OLIVER
After a protracted battle with pancreatic cancer, Daphne Renee Oliver was called home June 22,2020 at her home in Silver Spring, Maryland at the age of 57. She was a dedicated wife, caring mother, and loving grandmother.
Daphne was born on March 9, 1963 in Ashland, Kentucky to father Raymond Embry and mother Virginia Embry. She grew up in a large, loving family and graduated college earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. She married Joseph Oliver who was active duty military. Together with their daughter Ashley, they traveled and were stationed at several military bases. After her husband retired from active duty, they decided to call Silver Spring, Maryland home. She enjoyed working for Collabralink in Virginia and often referred to it as the job she was meant to have.
Daphne loved the Lord. She also loved her family and friends and lived life to the fullest. She was a ray of light and had a way of making you feel good just being around her. When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 5 and a half years ago, she remained dedicated in her work and in her strong desire to fight this disease. She continued to be a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. She fought a courageous battle.
Daphne is survived by her husband Joseph Oliver, her daughter Ashley Brown, Angela Embry (sister), Anthony Embry (brother), Scott Embry (brother), Shane Embry (brother), Jason Embry (brother), James Embry (brother), Debbie Taylor (sister), Martha Blackburn and all of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Raymond and Virginia Embry and her sister Michelle Newman.
Daphne will have two services; Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring, MD and Stith Funeral Home in Florence, KY.
