An environmentally friendly option

Robert Francis Barrett, formerly of Florence, KY and Fountain Valley, CA died December 31, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Riverside, IL, Robert, the son of Francis and Katherine Barrett, he we raised in East Aurora, NY. He came to Kentucky to attend the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, where he was elected president of his social fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha and received a B.S. degree in Economics. After graduation in 1960, he received his commission in the Air Force and spent his tour as Squadron Commander of his unit at Kessler Air Base in Mississippi. He returned to Lexington to pursue law school in 1964 where he was a member of the Presidents Law Journal. Receiving his Juris Doctor, he joined the law firm of Hughes, Clark & Burke in Covington, KY and achieved an MBA from Xavier University in 1968. Serving in the Air Force reserves , he was promoted to the rank of Captain. Relocating to California, he became General Counsel for Carollo Engineering, Inc. He was a Life Member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the American Council of Engineering Legal Counsel Forum. He leaves three daughters, Anne Heather “Robin” Barrett, Park Hills, KY, Megan Katherine Barrett, Santa Cruz, CA, and Heather Marie Barrett, Costa Mesa, CA; a son John Francis Barrett, Newport Beach, CA, a sister Barbara Barrett, Bali, Indonesia, a nephew, Michael Joseph Barrett, Napierville, IL and a niece, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Polster, Plainfield, IL. His twin brother, Francis John “Jack”, preceded him in death in 2002.
