Obituary for ROBERTA STEFFEN

Roberta "Bert" Steffen passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 8th at Villasprings in Erlanger at the age of 96. Staying home to raise her three sons was her primary passion as was being married to her husband Steve for 52 years. Bert worked as a cashier for Fedders Market and later in life worked at the Gillman Knitwear Company in the sewing department. Roberta was a member of the Crescent Springs Presbyterian Church. She loved and enjoyed her family and was seldom without a book that she was reading. Bert was blessed with several lifelong friends, some for over 80 years, and she would never pass up a card game. She especially loved to play Euchre and Pinochle and she faithfully worked the Enquirer crossword puzzle daily. She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Steve” Steffen; siblings, Herbert Lay, Fred Lay, Stella Eisenberger, Dorothy Nordquist and Mattie Rupard. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Gina) Steffen, Robert (Ann) Steffen and Timothy (Vickey) Steffen; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. She is, also, survived by several nieces & nephews, especially Janine Fischer and her family. Services will be held at the privacy of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Online condolences www.stithfuneralhomes.com
