Obituary for Richard B. Adams
Richard “Rick” Byron Adams, 70, of Florence, KY, died December 16, 2020, surrounded by family.
Rick was born January 8, 1950, in Covington, KY to Frederick Adams and Anna Adams (née Dixon).
Rick served as a Jet Engine Mechanic (ADJ2) in the US Navy. He made the fastest move in rank, from E2 to E5, in Brunswick history and was a member of the RVAH-13 squadron assigned to the USS Enterprise. After he was honorably discharged in 1973, Rick went on to establish his private photography business, Custom Photography, Inc.
In retirement, Rick enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. His wit, whimsy, and dry sense of humor continually entertained friends and family. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and active in his community group. His greatest devotion was to his family.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Sarah DeLacey Adams of Florence, KY; his children, Jonathan Adams (Beth) of Independence, KY; Jeffrey Adams (Jennifer) of Littleton, CO; and Stephanie Adams of Decatur, GA; his grandchildren, Calvin Adams, Chloe Adams, Henry Adams, and Wyatt Adams; his siblings, Connie Pitt and Mark Adams; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Rodger Adams and Robert “Bobby” Adams.
