Obituary for WANDA LEE FEY
Wanda Lee Fey (nee: Steinhoff), 67, of Florence, KY, passed away Wed. morning, Feb. 10, 2016, from complications arising from ALS, after a year and a half struggle with the debilitating disease. Wanda was a teacher in area schools for nearly four decades, having taught World Civilizations and AP Psychology at Boone County High School (BCHS) for 27 years, and half days after that for 10 years there and at Ryle High School. She worked at Babies R Us for seven years. After graduating from BCHS and Transylvania University, where she was president of Sigma Kappa sorority, Wanda received her Master’s degree from Xavier University. She later served as secretary of the BCHS alumni and treasurer for the BCHS band. Wanda touched countless lives as a schoolteacher and was extremely devoted to and loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Eunice Steinhoff. She is survived by her husband, Bob Fey, her daughter, Rachael Grace (husband, Eric), her granddaughter, Annabeth Lewis, her sister, Ramona Warner, and a niece, Donna Robinson (husband, Tom) and nephew, Lt. Matthew Warner (wife, Angie). Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 10 AM – 1 PM with memorial service following at 1 PM at Stith Funeral Homes, Florence. Memorials can be made in her name to the ALS Association or to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
