Our Staff

Doug has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Kentucky since 1980. He is a graduate of Boone County High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. After dedicating 40 years to the funeral service industry, Doug has retired. In addition to his funeral service career, he served for 34 years in public service as a Deputy and Boone County Coroner. Doug is married to Kim, and they have six children and four grandchildren. They split their time between Kentucky and Florida.

Jeff Hay has been a licensed Kentucky funeral director and embalmer since 1991 and a licensed Kentucky life insurance agent since 1990. He is a 1988 graduate of Thomas More College and a 1990 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

Throughout his career, Jeff has remained deeply committed to serving both his profession and his community. He served on the Grant County Industrial Development Authority Board for more than 20 years and donated the land used for the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown. He also spent more than a decade serving on the Legislative Committee for funeral directors and embalmers.

Jeff has been a member and past president of numerous Jaycees, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, as well as several chambers of commerce. He previously served on the Board of Education at St. Agnes School and is a member of the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association. His professional experience also includes serving as a franchisee in several food service and hospitality concepts.

Jeff is a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Union. He is the devoted husband of Bridget Hay and the proud father of Mack, Trevor, Brooklyn and Abby. His favorite title, however, may be “Papaw Jeff” to his grandson, Levi. He is also a proud dog dad to Bogie.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting his daughters at college in Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia, watching Levi participate in nearly every sport imaginable, and boating with his family at Lake Cumberland.

Bridget Hay is dedicated to serving families with care, respect, and attention to detail. A lifelong Northern Kentucky resident, she brings both professional experience and a deeply personal approach to every family she serves. With a background in business and years of experience in the funeral profession, Bridget specializes in advanced funeral planning, helping individuals create thoughtful arrangements that bring peace of mind and ease the burden on loved ones. Known for her calm presence and compassionate guidance, Bridget is committed to making each family feel supported, understood, and cared for every step of the way. Outside of her work, she enjoys interior design, gardening, and spending time with her four children and grandson, Levi. She considers it a true privilege to walk alongside families during life’s most important moments.

Joshua “Josh” Marcum is a licensed funeral director and embalmer with more than a decade of experience caring for families throughout Northern Kentucky. A 2006 graduate of Walton-Verona High School, Josh earned his degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2010. He is committed to guiding each family with compassion, patience and careful attention to every detail. Josh lives on his family’s farm in Boone County with his wife, Kelly, and their daughters, Avery, Adley and Aurora. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, fishing, spending time outdoors and cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Robert Cook, a friendly and dedicated professional with more than 27 years of experience as a licensed funeral director and embalmer across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. Since he joined Stith Funeral Homes in 2012, Robert has made a real difference in the community, including a rewarding seven-year role as a Deputy Coroner in Boone County. A proud graduate of Larry A. Ryle High School in Union, KY, class of 1995, Robert further pursued his passion by earning an associate degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1997. He lives in Williamstown, Kentucky, with his wonderful wife, Ashlee, and their son, August. When he’s not helping families during difficult times, you can find Robert enjoying time at the gun range or diving into his love for trains.

Paul E. Barton Jr. has been a licensed funeral director since 2015 and joined Stith Funeral Home in 2017. Known for his compassion, patience and personal attention, Paul is dedicated to helping families feel supported throughout the funeral-planning process. He remains active in both the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association, allowing him to stay informed about current standards and best practices in funeral service. Paul lives in Kenton County with his wife, Katie, and their daughter, Elizabeth. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and experiencing new places with his family.

Rick Young has served families as a funeral director assistant at Stith Funeral Home since 2017. A 2001 graduate of Ludlow High School, Rick has also devoted more than 20 years to the Walton Fire Protection District, where he serves as a shift commander. He is also a Boone County Deputy Coroner. Rick lives in Dry Ridge with his wife, Rebecca, and their daughters, Lauren, Kaylyn and Natalie. The Young family has been active at Generations Church since 2009. In his free time, Rick enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with his family.
